This project was my first foray into digital design and I learned the features and functions associated with InDesign DPS. Using a heat-press and wire binding, I developed a custom print piece which included bulit-in pockets for custom trail maps.
The objective of this project was to produce an informational or instructional piece which could be viable both in print and an interactive digital format.
My concept was a spec piece for the Montana Department of Tourism. The print element showcases the top four destination ski resorts in Montana (ranked by visitmt.com) by providing details such as: ticket prices, ski school information, nearby lodging, dining options, and the level of skiing difficulty found on each hill.
The digital version of this project is a tablet app which expands on the print version by providing the same information for 15 Montana ski areas. The interactive format includes media such as video and picture slideshows. For each ski hill I developed a custom trail map of the mountain to provide consistancy throughout the project. Where possible I included links to GoogleMaps 360 Street View to help users get an idea of the location.
