I’m not a photographer (yet), but sometimes I enjoy taking pictures—in the right place and with the right people. This photoshoot had both.
Over President’s Day weekend, my sister and I took advantage of the sunshine to get some photos taken for her graduation announcements. We started at Bennington Lake because that’s where I wanted to go and I was driving so I win. It was a hard sell because despite being an ecofeminist (and being recently accepted to grad school for being fantastic at it) she’s not the biggest fan of nature as art. Because I’m magnanimous, we also spent some time shooting in front of two of the downtown Walla Walla murals. I think we both had fun in both places.
My sister and I are polar opposites in almost every way—always have been, always will be. Looking through the photos I selected to share here, I’m pretty sure she hates most of them. And I’m not sharing some photos that she specifically asked me to take because I don’t get them (she insisted on posing next to a Port-a-Jon).
Sometimes our personalities and points of view can clash, but generally they make for a really good team.
