This September I participated in round 5 of #30DaysofBibleLettering.
If you haven’t heard of the project before, it’s hosted by Stefan Kunz at 30daysofbiblelettering.com. At the beginning of the month a list of verses is published—one for each day of the month—and people around the world put their creative spin on the words, snap a photo, and post it to instagram with the hashtag.
I love this project because one of the main points made on the website is that:
“God is the creator of heaven and earth. He made us in His image and therefore, we know that creativity is in your blood.”
Something about this challenge particularly enables me to just participate in it for the joy I find in creating and not worrying about making it perfect. Some days I have more time to spend than others, some days things just click, and somedays I can’t find the right pen or I run out of time in the day. But it doesn’t matter—the point is to keep creating and to flood social media with encouraging, loving words from God. During this challenge I really enjoyed comparing the verse of the day in different versions and seeing which parts of a particular verse stood out to others participating in the challenge.
Oh, you’ve counted and you only see 28 images? Well, I had to catch up one day and posted three verses in the same image. Make the challenge work for you!
